Switzerland

First stop in Switzerland was Luzern for one night moving on after a swim in the lake (Phil only) and a visit to the market (where cheese and fruit were needed). After some driving the next day the mountains started to get higher and there was more snow around, Adrienne (who expected lots of sun, lakes and gorgeous weather) asked where are we going to which Phil replied (with a smile) in the middle of those mountains of course. Adriennes note to everyone, always check the route before Phil gets behind the wheel.

We spent 3 days in the Jungfrau region (the origin of the Rhone and Rhine rivers). The mountains here are spectacular and it is typically Swiss with green valleys, lots of cows with bells, lots of cheese and pointy houses.

On one day we took the train to the top of the Jungfraujoc (commonly known as the top of Europe, even thou its not) which is 4200m –ish high. Yep thats right by train! The train goes up to about 3000m then goes into a tunnel only to pop out into a station with lifts that take you to the top of a rocky outcrop overlooking all of the mountains, glaciers etc. ONLY the Swiss could build this, then again only the Swiss have enough money.

Our remaining time in Switzerland was spen driving through Bern and Geneva which are two very pretty citys both of them on water (one a river, the other lake geneva).
